1. Agreement to Terms

By downloading, installing, or using brief ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

brief is a desktop application that rewrites prompts before they are sent to AI coding assistants. brief processes your prompts through its servers and returns an improved version. brief does not store your prompt content after processing is complete.

3. Accounts

You may need to create an account to use certain features of the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service
• Circumvent usage limits or access controls
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
• Resell or redistribute access to the Service without permission

5. Intellectual Property

brief and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by brief and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. Your prompts and outputs remain yours — brief claims no ownership over content you process through the Service.

6. Pricing & Payments

brief offers free and paid tiers. Paid plans are billed on a recurring basis. You may cancel at any time, and your access will continue through the end of your current billing period. Prices may change with 30 days' notice.

7. Service Availability

brief is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, brief and its creators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from your use of the Service.

9. Account Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at our sole discretion, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties, or for any other reason.

10. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. brief does not collect, train on, or share your prompt data. We collect only the minimum information needed to operate the Service (email address, usage counts).

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the new Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
